WHAT IS FALAK & SYARIE?

1. Falak The science of falak refers to Islamic astronomy, that is the study of the movements of celestial bodies (such as the sun, moon and stars) for the purpose of determining worship times. Examples of uses of ilmu falak:

  • Determining the start of the Hijri month (such as Ramadan, Shawwal)
